Bid Writing for a Sculpture Trail

The Harley Foundation has been awarded a major grant from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) 2014 – 2020 Growth Programme for a new art trail.

In summer of 2020, I spent some time writing the grant application for The Harley Foundation.

This extensive application drew on my specialist arts knowledge and broader tourism experience to build its argument.

The funding will enable the Foundation to develop an art trail connecting their contemporary Harley Gallery and Portland Collection museum with nearby Creswell Crags, the site of Britain’s earliest cave art.

The trail will tell the story of art – from cave paintings to contemporary visual art practice – through a series of artist commissions and information panels.

Cave Art to Contemporary Art Walking Trail – exploring the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Countryside is part-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
